Calculation Slot Fill Factor

      Hello,
      I've recently started using Maxwell Rmxprt and there is the option to display the slot fill factor(sff). I would calculate it manually like this:

      sff=copper_area/(Net_Slot_Area)=17*(11*pi*(0.965/2)^2)/299.188=0.457 = 45.7%

      But Ansys calculates 58%. I didn't assume insulation and even if I assume a fictitious very small value, the fill factor doesn't change significantly. How does Ansys calculate the fill factor? Can I calculate the fill factor myself? Attached is a screenshot of my Designsheet.

      Hello Andreas,

      The slot fill factor is calcualted as . RMxprt assumes that the coils are placed one above the other and one beside the same as shown i the below figure.

      So the total area of the coil can be considered as = 17*11*0.965*0.965/299.188 =58.2038percent
