Calculate heating of an assembly for a given ambient temperature?

      hi all

hope this is the right forum!
I want to analyse the heating/cooling of a battery cell due to the ambient temperature. A) Which tool should I use for this?

As I think about the analysis, there are two options:
1 either I simulate the temperature after beeing exposed to the ambient temperature after a given time (e.g. 4h) and look at the hottest and coldest parts or

2 I simulate how long it takes until the temperature of the last part equals the ambient temperature (prefered)

      B) How can I automate the process of the simulation, that the tool simulates for a specific ambient temperature range and provides one list of results? (for option 1 a heatmap of the part would be nice)

      C) How can I model that the heat transfer can take place over the whole surface plus the two contacts?

      Thanks!

To set up the heating/cooling of a cell is essentially a heat transfer problem. You can take a look at our heat transfer courses here: Ansys Innovation Courses - ANSYS Innovation Courses. For setting up a heatmap and/or visualizing through animation, you can go through the Post Processing in Ansys Fluent - Innovation Space course.

        Hi Murari

Looking at a similiar problem and only found a general lecture but no tutorial for the heat transfer. May you share the link to the specific course?

        Thanks

You can find the courses here: Heat Transfer in Fluids - ANSYS Innovation Courses. Within the course, there is also a simulation example along with some other cases for you to try.
