Burning solid fuel

I have a question. Is it possible to burn solid fuel in ansys with a loss of mass? Would it be possible to burn, for example, a lump of coal with a loss of its mass consistent with the combustion reaction? How to implement this?

Do you want to look at a single lump burning or a coal "spray" combustor?

Rather a single block. I want to simulate a layer of "garbage" from a landfill and look at the transport of mass and energy between them during the methane uptake process.

So layers of material? Porous media might be an option. For burning of a single block you may need to use UDFs coupled to moving mesh. We'd typically model the coal sprays with DPM.
