Boundary conditions setup for closed loop pipe simulation in Fluent

I am trying to simulate fluid flow in a closed-loop pipe system using ANSYS Fluent. Since the system has no inlet or outlet, what is the recommended approach for defining boundary conditions and driving the flow?

      Hello,

You can try to write the profile data from the outlet and then read and apply the same profile data to the inlet. This will create a closed-loop system.

Adding to my reply, you need not have entirely closed system. You can add inlets and outlets to your geometry for my initial suggestion to work.

Other way is to use source terms – momentum for X, Y and Z. But you need to add the source terms carefully to compensate for the reduction in the velocity due to pressure gradient. Else, divergence will occur due to continous addition of velocities to the flow.
