SubscriberHi all,
I need to import the points in design modeler, after importing points I followed the following steps:
1. Concept-lines from points
2. Concept-surface from edges
But when I apply the boundary condition at that surface body, it is not visible although it is selected but later on when I click on the boundary condition (wall) in tree, it doesn't show anything. Usually the boundary becomes green and highlighted but in this case not.
Is there any problem with allotting the boundary condition to surface body?Image is attached
waiting for any kind response.

Forum ModeratorCheck the options to see if you're highlighting both sides of a face. However, what are you expecting to happen by labelling a surface body when you also have solid bodies?

SubscriberThank you very much for your reply, yes I have a solid body and it is obtained by extruding this surface body basically, but when I select faces of the solid body to allot boundary conditions then this face which is shown above (which is actually a surface body)is not highlighted as the other faces of the solid body although it is selected under details of the a specified boundary condition. Moreover, when I get fluent settings this face appears to be hollow and not as solid part.

SubscriberTry importing the points along one side as a 3D Curve. You might get a better result since it will be a single edge that extrudes into a single face.

SubscriberThank you very much for your reply, I have tried it by using 3D curve instead of lines from points, but it is behaving the same in Fluent i.e the edge which is extruded is hollow means this face is not indicating

any boundary condition. Also the tip of the flap is not straight by using curve option as it is in lines as shown above.

Forum ModeratorIn Fluent we're looking for volumes, and labels attached to faces of that volume. If you've created a surface and labelled that it'll not be seen by Fluent as it's not part of a volume.
The end of that face above is probably straight; it's just the mesh is so coarse it's been faceted.Â

SubscriberThank you very much for your kind information. There was a problem in having Boolean, and trick is involved by selecting the faces for boundary conditions. The face of the surface body was not selected initially, I suppressed it and only selected the extruded slid body just and then un-suppressed the surface body and it worked. Also I worked with kines from points instead of 3D curve just to have straight edges.
