SubscriberHello everybody,
I am new to Ansys and trying to figure out the Campbell Diagramm for a rotating system. In a few words, I have created a shaft by using "line from points" and positioned a casing for a bearing in one of the shaft's vertex. Then I created a remote point connected to the surface of the casing hole. The idea is to create a "body-body" bearing, which has the remote point as "reference" and the vertex as "mobile".
I don't know why Ansys is not accepting the inputs of the connection. What is missing?
I hope the attached picture helps you to better understand the problem.
Thank you

Also from your description, it seems like you are using bearings under connections.
For each incorrectly defined object in Mechanical, there will be "?" (question mark) in front of that object in the tree. Also, the details object will be highlighted in red for an incorrectly defined object (yellow for an underdefined object). You can click on the "Show Errors" button under Tools in the Home Ribbon tab to highlight the error in the message pane.

Most probably, the error might be related to remote point and the vertex not being coplanar. If that is the case, check the coordinates of your vertex under mobile, and modify remote points coordinates (in the details of the remote points) to match those of geometry.
For example, the Y coordinate of a bearing in XZ plane should match exactly as shown in the image below:

SubscriberI'm sorry, now the images should be visible.
As you suggested, I clicked on "show errors" and Ansys says "Reference and Mobile locations are not in selected rotation plane" indeed. How can I solve the issue? In my opinion, even modifying the planes in Design Modeler, could not be the solution because the rotating plane of the bearing changes
consequently. -

Forum Moderatorplease check my second reply above. make sure that Z coordinate of the remote point matches exactly with the vertex z coordinate.
For that copy the Mobile z coordinate of the vertex (assuming the rotation plane is XY Plane) shown in the details of bearing and paste them to the details of the "Remote Point" in the tree.
