SubscriberI am trying to perform a modal analysis on a PCB and as boundary condition, I want it to move free as long as it is allowed by the plastic piece which is holding it as can be seen in the following pictures.

Forum ModeratorAre you doing a Modal analysis? If yes, Modal analysis is a linear analysis. The contact status is set to open or to close based on initial contact status.

SubscriberAdding to Aniket's comment, in a Modal analysis you can have a No Separation contact because that is linear. That will allow the tab to slide along one face, giving more freedom to the structure compared with gluing the tab to the face. However, you can't have limit stops at each end of the slot the tab sits in because that is a nonlinear behavior.
