AUTOMATION

I am looking to automate various dynamic loads at different speeds across a simply supported beam through ansys scripting or any other ansys relevant methods.

I have a simply supported beam with dimension of 0.2m x 0.2m x 20m. I want to apply various loads ranging from 1000N to 10000N at various speeds from 3m/s all the way up to 50m/s (preferable around 100 different variations).

Currently I have manually simulated about 5 of these dynamic loads through transient structural by splitting the beams top surface into 40 different faces and applying a time dependent load across each face to imitate a moving load.

The issue with this is that it is very time intensive and I heard that this can all be scripted. I have 0 experience with python coding and have tried following some online scripting tutorials and asking ChatGPT, but am getting no progress.

Is someone able to provide me with a relevant code that I can use?

      Hi,

Consider reviewing the Ansys Help Documentation for details on scripting within Ansys Mechanical — Scripting in Mechanical Guide
Furthermore, if you're interested in acquiring Python programming skills, you might find this introductory course beneficial — Intro to Python | Ansys Courses

      Hope this helps!
      Regards,

      Hi

In addition to that there are many scripts that can be perhaps repurposed and reused here:

Any questions on scripting post it in the discuss forum:
