We have an exciting announcement about badges coming in May 2025. Until then, we will temporarily stop issuing new badges for course completions and certifications. However, all completions will be recorded and fulfilled after May 2025.

Asking for the formula of n,k fitting model

We can obtain the refractive index (n) and extinction coefficient (k) values, and generate a fitted curve using FDTD simulation, as shown in Figure 1. However, the exact fitting formula used by the software is not explicitly provided. Could you please provide the specific fitting model or equation used for extracting n and k?

For reference, we are using the Sellmeier equation model, which fits n² versus λ², as demonstrated in the figure below.

      Hello,

Unfortunately we cannot provide the fitting material formula as this is something known to the R&D team. I can assume that it is a polynomial fitting function that after playing with the tolerances ( "Show advanced"  tab) you can obtain a good fit with Sellmeier's fitting depicted in the second figure.

      Regards

      Dimitris
