Are reverse reactions considered in steady diffusion flamelet combustion simulations?

      Hi there,

      When generating steady non-adiabatic flamelets for non-premixed combustion, the species composition is determined by a process involving the summation over the reactions in the chemical mechanism. Are only the forward reactions considered?

      Thanks!

      HI Cabbage123:
      If you are reading in a Chemkin Mechanism which has the forward and reverse indicators for a reaction, then both directions are considered
      For instance, take the reaction expert below :
      REACTIONS
      2O+M<=>O2+M1.200E+17-1.000.00
      H2/ 2.40/ H2O/15.40/ CH4/ 2.00/ CO/ 1.75/ CO2/ 3.60/ C2H6/ 3.00/ AR/.83/
      Reactions with = or <=> between products and reactants have forward and reverse rates. => indicates forward rate only.
      If you enter a reaction manually, the forward and backward rates must be specified directly.
