SubscriberHello everyone,
I'm hoping someone can help me figure out an issue I'm having with AQWA. I'm trying to simulate sloshing of a liquid inside a tank caused by ship motion. When I go to import my geometry from Design Modeler into AQWA for the hydrodynamic response analysis, I get the error "AQWA Cannot edit connected systems with undefined Setup Transfer data!" However, there are no issues when I import the geometry for hydrodynamic diffraction analysis.
Has anyone run into this before and know what might be causing it/how to fix it? Any help or insights you can provide would be greatly appreciated! Please let me know if you need any other details from me. Thanks so much for your time.

Ansys EmployeeHello,
It is not possible to run a Hydrodynamic Response analysis on its own - you must always have a Hydrodynamic Diffraction system on the Workbench Project Schematic, for example:
This is because the Hydrodynamic Diffraction analysis creates a database of force and motion coefficients that are used in the Hydrodynamic Response calculation. The link between the Hydrodynamic Diffraction Solution and the Hydrodynamic Response Setup indicates that this database is shared between the systems.
We usually recommend a workflow as shown above. The first Hydrodynamic Response system is a stability analysis, where the Aqwa solver finds the equilibrium position of the structure(s) taking into account the defined environment and any connections (e.g. moorings). The second Hydrodynamic Response system, which could be a time domain or frequency statistical analysis, uses that equilibrium position as its starting condition.
I hope this helps.
