SubscriberHi all. I'm using the Static Structural module of ANSYS workbench. I have a structure modeled with beams.
I have a set of loads that acts at the CG of the structure, and I would like to apply that set of loads to one of the beams as a remote force and a remote moment. I created a remote point scoped to that beam using deformable behavior in order to do this. Whenever I try to run the simulation, though, I get the following error:
"One or more loads is using a deformable behavior but is applied to a collinear edge. Â This is invalid, thus the behavior has been changed to Rigid. Â Check the Solver Output on the Solution Information object to identify the offending load."
Â
I know that the issue is the remote point, but I don't know why it's an issue to have a load using deformable behavior on an edge. My questions are as follows:
-Why is this happening?Â
-Is there some way of scoping a remote point to an edge using deformable behavior without getting this warning?
-When I scope a remote point to vertices, I don't have the option to set the behavior. In that situation, is the behavior automatically rigid or deformable?
-Any suggestions on how to model this? Do I need to use something other than beams?

Hi
Remote force and moment (deform.) works fine on remote points scoped to beam edges or beam nodes directly (2024 R2).but I would suggest as all remote points are approximations of the structures and are thus not suitable often.
So to be correct here I would represent the structure at the CG and the structures connecting it to the beam (s).
All the best
Erik
