Applying a 3d moment in explicit dynamic environment Mx, My, Mz

      Hello everyone
I am very new to Explicit Dynamic environments.
I have a question about applying a 3d moment in explicit dynamic environments. How can I apply a moment that has 3 components: Mx, My, Mz
I saw the answer about creating a joint. But as far as I found out, it only allows us to give value to one component. I even thought about using three of such joint loads, but I can’t specify the axis of the application either. (For example, it is always z-axis)
By the way, I am trying to use the explicit dynamic to solve a quasistatic problem. Is there any workaround that I can just run my static model as explicit?

      Hi,

Explicit dynamics is a transient phenomenon. You should use a Static Structural Analysis. Explicit Dynamics is udeful for short duration analysis (say an impact analysis).

Hello. Thank you for replying to my questions.

I am not very familiar with Ansys dynamic explicit. But I think I heard it is common to use it to solve quasistatic problems.

        Even Ansys claim so:

      Hi,

For low strain rates, yes quasi-static analysis can be used but I cannot say it will be purely static. Please refer to the following post:

      Hello Ok Ok,

Please reply with an image of the component you want to simulate.  Explain what is the source of the three moments.  A moment is a mathematical construct, it doesn't really exist.  If you look, the source of a so-called moment is a force at a radius or a pair of tangential forces in opposite directions on opposite sides of a part.

I recommend you apply forces to get the moment you want.

Thank you Peteroz. I know the moment is just a mathematical definition. But it is very common. So I generally receive my structure load as forces and moments. And it is expected of me to show the moments' value on my load figures. So it is unfortunate that explicit dynamics don't have such feature
Do you know if it is the same with Ansys LS Dyna?
