Dear all,

I want to create Drucker prager model (Elasto Plastic) with Density, linear elastic isotrophic and (cohesion,friction angle, flow angle) in workbench but there no such model in engineering data.

after reaserch I get to know about apdl commends in workbench ? and tried to import the DP model from apdl. figure one is defined the variable to replace the existing material property. Figure two, assign the material property to variable (I took the code from apdl).

So my queastion is i am doing it in right way?

please give your suggestions.

Have you tried to define it in engineering data?

Using Command snippet is also possible (the way you are doing) too, but, do you really need it?

Dear aniket,
I have design the DP material model through engineering data but solution not converging ? Since we need add Drucker prager base values and other data, I worked like 2 months but no results. After research i got about apdl commads in workbench. So want to use classical DP model in workbench. Please give your suggestions.

Please check solver output file and errors that you see there, and search them on this forum so as to find reason for non convergence. Also, please check the results with and without the command snippet if those are different.

I worked many times to fix the issue with DP worknench model and get to know it is not possible for static analysis ?

results are different with and without command snippet. please see below picture I have added DP model through apdl command?

and I find this script in ansys Guid on soil models. Please give confirmations i am using it in right way or not ?

and after results I traied to plot the maximum stress and element size in wooden railsleeper and identified the maximum stress keeps increasing for each reduction in the size of elements around that stress (please refer below picture), which is best way mesh my model ?

Hi, I have the same problem. I assign the DP in APDL command but unable to run /solve. Then I tried assign using engineering data insert it manually, again when run /solve, i got error. In the youtube / tutorial, it looks very easy, just copy the command text then paste at the mechanical however, the reality is difficult. Naveen, can I get your latest status on this problem? You can email to me directly. I am really need to solve the problem for my study. Thanks
