SubscriberI searched the forums and see this question asked a lot. I took a look at the tested graphics cards, Quadro and P and higher Nvidia cards, made for rendering, but not the graphics display cards like GeForce.
I am trying to learn ANSYS and I am trying to take the EdX Cornell course but my Windows laptop is a puny i5 with integrated graphics, ANSYS will not run.
My question is does anyone have experience of getting ANSYS to run on a GeForce card?
I mean a higher end one, for instance a 12GB GeForce 3060 or better. From what I read in the forums, you are mostly rolling the dice if you don't get a tested card, but I wanted to buy a new computer that isn't solely dedicated to simulation and I can't spend $2500 on an A5000.
Thanks for any feedback, all! :)

SubscriberYes!
I got ANSYS 2020 R2 to run on a GeForce 3060 Ti with latest drivers.
It will also run on a Quadro P620. However, you cannot have a Quadro and a GeForce running in the same Motherboard! Different drivers.
Thanks!

SubscriberHi Jstebbin, Could you please let me know how you were able to use GeForce 3060 for the Ansys Fluent Student version?Â
