SubscriberHello everyone,
I'm Maiarutselvan a research scholar. Currently, I have been using ANSYS for my work progress. While performing static structural and modal analysis I'm facing an error "Mesher failed to mesh topological errors". I couldn't able to understand the issue correctly. The overlapping of multiple surfaces created while modelling the part could have been the reason for this error is my view right now. Kindly share your suggestions and thought processes for resolving this issue it could help me to move further in my work.
Note: I can't change or redefine the geometry of the model due to project fixed constraints.
Thank you

Forum ModeratorHi @maiarutselvan
I think this comes from some of the imported geometry features.
In SpaceClaim, you could either play around using the repair tools - Repairing problems (ansys.com) or try Share Topology (ansys.com)
Thanks, Saumadeep

SubscriberThank you for the suggestions, I don't have a customer ID so I couldn't able to view these trail links mentioned in the comment. I have been using academic versions from our college lab, if possible please provide viewable links regarding this issue.

Ansys EmployeeNot sure why you can not view that link, but here is what it says and what one needs to do to view the help links:
Our student users aren't provided access to the ANSYS Customer Portal, but we do provide students with access to the ANSYS Online help from within the ANSYS Student products. This access bypasses the need to login into the Customer Portal when using the online Help from within the Student Product, but that path isn't taken when you click on a link in a post here. The workaround is as follows:
1. From ANSYS Workbench, use the menu Help > ANSYS Workbench Help.A browser window will open.
2. In the post that has a link to the ANSYS Online Help,Right Mouse Buttonon the link and selectCopy Link Address 3. Go to the browser window that opened in step 1 andPastein the address bar and you get to the required page.
Many thanks to our moderator Peter Newman for this great tip.
