SubscriberI currently have Ansys 2021 R1 student version, and have done a number of projects with it.
In the future when I install the latest student version at that time, will my projects from the old version open in that version of Ansys?

Forum ModeratorGenerally yes. You may find some warnings are issued if models or behaviour changes between releases so always read those. There can be occasional problems jumping many releases in one go but that's relatively rare: I'm using models generated in Fluent 6.x (2001-2005 ish) in 2022R1 with only the occasional crash or problem, that's around 10 full releases different. If you are planning on keeping files for extended periods I would export case, data and geometry (STEP format or the like) as well as the project archive. This just adds a further layer of protection in the event of changes in the pre-processing tools: I'm on my 10-12th since learning how to use Fluent if I include all of the early geometry & separate meshing tools.

SubscriberThank you. I have exported the case & data as well as the project archives. So I should be good.
