Ansys RSM user authentication

I have a server with Ansys R19.1 which I use a single node compute server. I can submit jobs to it with my own computer. But some other users cannot. They get the error below:

      Hi Lennartm,

I have the exact same problem. Please let me know if you managed to solve this problem.

      Thank you!

My server has multiple network cards, I think this caused the problem. But I not quite sure, there might have been other issues as well. This is unfortunatly not a very clear documented program.

The multiple network cards problem can be solved by pointing Ansys to the correct interface. You should stop RSM on the server. Then use these commands (path may be different in your case):

C:Program FilesANSYS Incv202RSMin>rsm.exe appsettings set Global RemotingMachineNameAttribute

C:Program FilesANSYS Incv202RSMin>rsm.exe appsettings set UserProxy SocketTransfererListenerIpAddress

Then restart Ansys RSM launcher service 2020 R2in Windows services

Also check your firewall. Hope this helps.

Thank you for your response. My issue was the firewall. I had to activate the ports 9212 (RSM-Version 2021R2 -> 212) and ports 11202, 12202 and 13202 (ARC-Version 2020R2 -> 202). My mistake was that I put 212 behind everything because I thought the newest RSM is relevant which is not the case.

To use the latest ARC version, please uninstall older arcmastr and arcnode services, and then set ARC_ROOT variable per RSM documentation and then install 2021 R2

From my perspective a really interesting question, lennartm asked in his first post, regarding the caching of all passwords? Additional I was wandering, if really I have to update every password, even my own, when I use the rsm only as a local queue manager for myself?
