I plan to run Ansys fluent simulation for wings.Â
Â
Is my processor adequate for the software?Â
Â
Or should I build a new one?
Â
Amd phenom II X6 1035TÂ
6 GB
1 tb hard driveÂ
Nvidia Asus 1050 TI STRIX
Â
If I swap out the hard drive with an SSD will that boost performance for ansys?

You can read a generic recommendation here. Have you run Fluent on this computer already?
The amount of RAM you need depends on the size of your model, which may be limited if you are using the Student license.
An SSD is faster than an HDD for everything, such as booting the OS and loading ANSYS software and models.

Not on this computer. I wonder whether to build a new PC or just upgrade the current one. I am doubtful of the performance of the AMD X6 as it is over 5 years old.

AMD phenom II X6 1035 has 6 cores at 2.6 GHz, which is okay.
How big are your models going to be (Student or Academic license)?
Can you leave this computer to calculate a solution? I have a desktop for solving and a laptop for carrying around.
What is your budget and the OS you are on?
A GPU can speed up solving CFD models, but a Tesla P100 can cost over $5,000 (and needs Linux).

November 20, 2017 at 3:51 pmtyw7SubscriberI'm on Student license. I think around £500ish.
And it's a desktop. -
November 20, 2017 at 3:52 pmtyw7SubscriberIt has an Nvidia 1050 TI graphic card but it's the STRIX option as my psu is one of those HP ones without any 8 pin.

I think 16 GB. -

I would purchase four DDR3-1066 (or 1333) 4GB DIMMs to get you to 16 GB.
What is currently plugged into the memory slots to get you to 6 GB?
You want the same type of memory DIMM in each slot.

Cannabidiol (CBD) has been as of late shrouded in the media, and you may have even considered it to be an include sponsor to your post-exercise smoothie or morning espresso. What precisely is CBD? For what reason is it out of nowhere so famous?
