SubscriberHi, I am looking to normalize my results from the modal analysis of a plate. What I want to know is how do I get eigen mode values. I am using ANSYS Workbench at the university, and I want to create a colour bar from -1 to 1 with zero in the center, showing the nodal lines. I tried many times in directional displacement, but it doesn't work there. Also, how do I post-process the ANSYS modal result image? I want to show those nodal lines as white, while antinodes as black, like we can do in COMSOL. I tried ISo capped surfaces. I still think it is not good. I am trying to recreate Chladni's pattern using different boundary conditions. I saw some images in articles having this bar from -1 to 1 and eigen mode shape in ANSYS, but I can't find any information or document on Google.

SubscriberLook at the MODOPTÂ command in the Mechanical APDL Command Reference help page.
MODOPT,Â
Method
,ÂNMODE
,ÂFREQB
,ÂFREQE
,ÂCpxmod
,ÂNrmkey
,ÂModType
,ÂBlockSize
,Â--
,Â--
,Â--
,ÂFREQMOD
Notice the Nrmkey parameter
The default is OFF and that means the mode shapes are normalized to the mass matrix.
You want to set the Nrmkey to ON so that the mode shapes are normalized to unity.
