One day, I suddenly started having issues with ANSYS Mechanical files. I would open up a Mechanical file through ANSYS Workbench and, when I selected the icon that popped up in the taskbar, the file would not pop open. ANSYS Workbench would display that the file had been opened, yet the UI would not open at all. I tried opening new ANSYS Mechanical projects using the ANSYS Mechanical application and was having the same issue. Why is this happening and how do I fix this issue?

Hi,
Can you try doing an appdata reset? To do a APPDATA reset:
a. Completely close out ANSYS (any and all open projects)
b. Open a Windows Explorer window and in the bar at the top input: %APPDATA%
c. Go into the Ansys folder
d. Rename the v22.1 folder to v22.1_old (so that there isn't a folder named v22.1 - this is for v2022R1)
e. Launch ANSYS and all your setting will be reset.
Please see if this helps.Regards,

It worked! Thank you so much, Ashish. I'm still not sure why I had this issue in the first place, but it's good to know I can do a quick app data reset this way.
