Ansys Mechanial crashes every time i tried to open model tab it crashes her is the error Log please Help

Is the computer name using only English alphanumeric characters?

Is the admin and user account name using only English alphanumeric characters?

Duplicate discussion shows it is ANSYS 2019 R2.

I don't know what is the problem but I could help you to get rid of the Usage tips window on startup.

 

The whole bunch of preferences about windows and stuff Ansys Workbench keeps in a large amount of different *.xml files. The one you are looking for is SOFTWARE.xml. The thing is: to make the preference to show up in SOFTWARE.xml you should at least once close Mechanical module normally without touching Usage tips window since it will crash everything. 

So, for closing normally Mechanical module you should do a few steps:

 

1. Open Mechanical module with Usage tips window appearing. DO NOT TOUCH Usage tips window since it will crash everything.

2. You could attach some geometry earlier and make some mesh.

3. Close Mechanical module without touching Usage tips window. The module will close normally.

4. Then you should find the SOFTWARE.xml file. For Ansys 2019 R2 it will be in the hidden folder:

 

C:UsersYourUserNameAppDataRoamingAnsysv194UserRegFiles_419736489SOFTWARE.xml

(numbers in the folder name "UserRegFiles_419736489" could be different)

The whole "AppData" folder is hidden by default, so you should google how to make it show if it is a problem for you.

 

5. Open file SOFTWARE.xml and find "ID_UsageTipsPreference" text. It will lead you to the whole tag:

 

 

6. Change the word "Show" in the tag to "DoNotShow". Just like that: without spaces and with capitals. Save and close the file.

 

After that window Usage tips should not be there.

I faced this issue too where closing the "Usage Tips" screen resulted in ANSYS Mechanical crashing. I followed the instructions by akeyev and it solved my issue. Oddly enough my colleagues did not face this same issue with their installations of ANSYS 2019 R2.

That could be graphics, if you're using an unsupported card changing/closing panels/windows can cause problems.
