Ansys Maxwell Eddy Current Stranded Loss

I select stranded in my Maxwell 3D eddy current simulation to simulate litz wire. The loss tab displays a quantity called "stranded loss". For Litz Wire operating at any frequency the loss components for the wire are DC Copper Loss + AC Copper Loss

Is the stranded loss displayed in Maxwell 3D eddy current simulation the total loss or just the AC copper loss? I attached a picture

      Hi,

only DC loss. You can use new feature Litz Wire modelling, please see help section. Otherwise you need to simulate all objects separately to represent real geometry and set each object as solid.

With litz wire model you can see strandedlossac quantity. StrandedLossAC includes DC losses and additional AC losses due to skin effect and proximity effect.

      Hi Mbeliaev,

Thank you for your help but I am using ansys maxwell 2015 version. Can't I do it right with this version? By the way, my conductor in reality is not the litz.

      Thanks again.

      HI Mbeliaev

What is the solid loss in this tab?

      Thanks
