SubscriberI am learning to use ANSYS for finite element calculations of Hertz contact. In the experiment, I used a nano probe to apply pressure to a thin film, hoping to calculate the strain and strain gradient in the sample. However, when I was setting the parameters for calculation, the software reported an error. I have provided some specific parameter details for my calculation. I hope everyone can help me find the reason for the calculation error. Thank you!

Ansys EmployeeHello,
I have a few suggestions:
- Try controlling the indenter using a displacement boundary condition instead of force (I provided a screenshot below).
- Use a sufficiently fine mesh to ensure proper contact detection. If necessary, adjust the pinball radius, which can be accessed from the details window under the 'Advanced' branch of the contact.
