SubscriberHi, I was wondering if ansys can be used to determine the lumped model parameters of a transformer and also if it can be used to generate a frequency response analysis (FRA) plot from the transformer model?
If so does anyone knpw the maximum frequency that can be achieved for the FRA plot? Thanks!

Ansys EmployeeHi Joshua,
In Maxwell you can compute the lumped parameters (R,L,C) but you will need to run 2 different simulations, one to compute R and L using a magnetic solver and another one to compute C using an electric solver.
In Maxwell you can plot Inductance vs Freq, then please remember to specify a Freq Sweep in the Analysis/ Setup. There is not a maximum Freq value, but I would not recommend having several GHz.

SubscriberThanks for your reply Ivonne.
Do you know if the student version of ANSYS is capable of generating the frequency plot, or is a more advenced version required?

Thanks,
Josh
