Dear Ansys Team,
I'm contacting you because I've registered a bothering issue when I've downloaded the 2024 R1 Student release of Fluent.
Indeed, while with the 2023 R2 Student version I was able to Import .unv files (that I use to export the meshes in I-deas Universal format from a mesh generator), now I've noticed that the 2024 R1 Student version does not give the chance to import such files anymore. To make this as clear as possible I'm attaching two screenshots, the first referring to the 2023 R2 release and the second one referring to the 2024 R1 release, just to show that in the 2024 R1 the "I-deas Universal" option is no longer present in the drop-down menu of Import.
Why is this so?
Thank You in advance for Your support.

It looks like some of the formats are no longer supported https://ansyshelp.ansys.com/account/secured?returnurl=/Views/Secured/corp/v241/en/flu_mig/fluent_releasenotes.html

Dear Rob, Thank you for replying to my post. In fact, as you said, it seems like some format is no longer available. However, if you check on the Fluent 2024 R1 User's Guide it turns out that the I-deas Universal source file for the mesh should be importable. I'm attaching a screenshot of the Ansys Fluent 2024 R1 User's Guide.
So I don't understand where the issue come from.
Do you have any idea?
Thank you a lot.

Looks like you can go via Fluent Meshing. I'll flag the issues and see about a DOC update.

And a quick answer - the update is correct and the User's Guide wasn't updated to reflect the change. Expect the User's Guide documentation to change as that's revised. It's worth checking Fluent Meshing, but given the change in the Solver that may not be available for much longer either.

Ok understood. Just I don't understand why making some of the previous release-importable formats unimportable.
Thank you for your replies.
