ANSYS Fluent License Issues

      Hello,

I am having issues accessing the 'Setup' Portion of my Project Schematic after creating a geometry and a mesh. Included are some screenshots of what it says when I attempt to access. This is the ANSYS 2024 R1 Student License. I have tried changing some file names by adding the suffix '.old', as I saw this in another thread that could have helped, but to no effect. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks for your time in advance!

      Hi Nelson,

Can you please rename the vxxx to vxxx.old folder under these specific folders: In start menu type

       - %appdata%\Ansys\vxxx
       - %localappdata%\Ansys\vxxx
       - .cfx and .fluentconfig folder under C:\Users\username

Relaunch the application, let me know if this helps you to resolve the issue.

I renamed the .vxxx to .vxxx.old in the locations shown, but did not find the .cfx and .fluentconfig folders. I tried loading fluent again after updating those first two and got this message, and am still unable to use fluent for the Setup.

      Any other advice?

      Hi Nelson,

Select msmpi and launch the application.

      Hi Nelson,

Did you have licenses in past, was your machine pointing out to server?

I have previously used ANSYS student version but that was back in 2022. I have not used it since then and can't provide any details. I don't recall using workbench or fluent at all, we used a different portion of ANSYS. I am unsure if my machine is pointing out to server or not.
