I am trying to do a free decay test for pitch and heave. Similar to the video link below
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dn4GgeSH7vs.
How can I create create surface or zone to track the pitch angle or heave displacement using report definition?
I am thinking about creating a surface at the top or bottom but don't know how. the image below is a spar cylinder I am working with. the simulation looks fine, but I just can't figure out a refferece location to serve as object to track. thanks
any suggestion I will appretiate. -

Assuming you have separate faces for top, bottom and side(s) monitoring min and max of x, y and z should work. You'll need to calculate the angles from that, a report based on an Expression of the monitors ought to give you the angle.Â
