Hello all,nI am working on VOF model in Ansys Fluent. I have multiple inlets and outlets. There was a mass flow rate problem in the model. So, I check the mesh, there were bad and unacceptable nodes for Skewness and OQ.nnSo, I played with mesh a little and now everthing is good about quality. There were also some named selections error too, I fixed them. The setup has updated the new mesh, everything was fine.nBut, after I save the simulation results and open it later, it shows the error which I have mentioned in title. Now, when I open setup or solution, it is shutting down fluent module automatically displaying the following error.nnIs my whole work and time has gone vain or there is any possiblity to solve this error?.Thank younRajn

Hi,nCan you open the .cas file alone and, perhap, just initialize? Do you see any error messages?nAlso, are you working on WorkBench or standalone Fluent?nThanks.nKarthikn

Hello,nI am working through Workbench, not in standalone Fluent. nCan you please guide me how to open .cas file and directly initialize it?nThank younRajn

You start Fluent in Standalone (look in your start Programs), read the case and then initialize it.nIn WB:nCreate a new project, Edit the Setup Cell by Right Mouse Click, read Input File, select the case file. Double Click now on setup cell, enter Fluent and initialize.n

Yeah, I have done it, but I need to run the calculation again. It takes 2 weeks of time for my whole simulation.n

Open Fluent standalone and initialise then see if you can read in the data. It's possible (but quite difficult) to corrupt the Workbench system but still have valid solver files. n

Even if I open in Fluent Standalone. I cannot visualise results because there is no solution cell or results for post processing. Moreever, I need workbench to update my mesh and change the geometry. I want to know, why has this error occured? What is the reason?n

If you have a .cas and a .dat (h5 or otherwise) you have the case and a data set. nWithout really looking into the model I don't know why you've had this problem. Simply opening the Setup cell and doing an update can lose data (WB assumes you don't need older data) hence suggesting if you can copy files out of the folder structure and open separately. n
