SubscriberUPDATED, I've partially figured out something is wrong with my Full Car model. But I haven't figured out a solution to fix my model. SEE BELOW
Dear Ansys team and fellow users,
On certain functions, in this case using the Enclosure tool. I need to make an enclosure for CFD simulation. Using Solidworks 2024 Assembly document (.SLDASM) However, after inserting the enclosure dismensions in and clicking on the green arrow, the loading circle mouse icon appears, and it doesn't seem to be able to 'unfreeze' itself. Tried 3 times, without any success. Had to force close Discovery via Task Manager.p>
Other functions, such as using the Interfence tool, it takes a long time for the loading mouse icon to disappear. Other function is using the pull tool to give body panels of my car some width, it's very laggy.
Overall, I find Ansys discovery slow.Using Ansys 2024 R2 student,
My laptop specs:13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-13850HX
4000 ada 12GB
64GB DDR5 RAM
1TB SSD (~1/3 used)
Windows 11 ProUsing Discovery application with tonnes of Chrome pages open, and not straining my laptop.

Update:I installed Ansys 2024 R2 on my other laptop (sufficient hardware to run Ansys), used the same car model as I used previously. The same error occurs.
I also tried with a simple shape, I used a cylinder, and then tried to put an enclosure around it, the same error occurs.
I will try Ansys 2025 R1, and shall update again.
Update 2:I just tried using Discovery from Ansys 2025 R1 Student on my first laptop (of aforementioned), the same thing still happens!
I was thinking... it might be an issue with my Full Car Model, because using the model from preparation-using-ansys-discovery-lesson-1 , I was able to create a wind tunnel enclosure.
Could non-so-perfect body surfaces be the issues?

Ansys EmployeeHiÂ
This can be due to the complexity of the geometry or if the geometry has errors. Please check if the geometry has errors using the check geometry tool. You can use the shrinkwrap tool to reduce the complexity of the geometry.

Hi CFD_Friend,
Thanks for helping!I have used Check Geometry, and shrink-wrapped on the one of the body panels that was displaying geometry errors that I couldn’t get rid of (Currently 2 geometry errors total on that one body panel), and used shink-wrap on the whole nose, being a complex part.
I have made the nose uniformly smooth (and made in solid) in Solidworks before importing into Discovery, more smooth compared to my first version (where I tried to make the body of the nose solid using the Discovery’s Pull Tool, and I wasn’t able to offset each sub-face of the nose equally outwards)
However, I am still not able to make an wind-tunnel enclosure.
(I have followed the tutorial until the making of the enclosure in Lesson 1 Part 3, except for the MRF of the wheels (for now), and have skipped making the tyre patches (for now) as shown in the tutorial Lesson 1 Part 1 video as I don’t thing they’ll affect the success of the enclosure. I also have not solidified the air between the rim and tyres,as I couldn’t figure out how yet . )
Also my body panels are not perfect aligned (there are gaps) as this is just a 1st iteration, and not ‘water tight’.Questions:
Would a non-water-tight body affect the generation of the wind-tunnel enclosure?
How about supressed or hidden parts in the Assembly file in Solidworks?
