I am currently working through this 2 part tutorial: 'ANSYS CFX: Design and Analysis of a Pump Impeller'

when i get to the start of the part 2 video and run the solution i get error: 'Update failed for the Solution component in Turbomachinery Fluid Flow.  The solver failed with a non-zero exit code of : 2'

I have went back through the setup multiple times to see what i have missed but cant get the solver to complete. I am using 2024R1 on a student license. 

Has anyone successfully completete the tutorial? did an changes need made from the video imformation to solve the problem?

Hi Ray,

I tried the tutorial and it is working without any errors. Can you go through the steps again and check? Also, dont try to increase the Global size factor beyond 1.2 as mentioned in the video, because the mesh size might increase and that Ansys Student version has 1 Million cells/nodes limit. 

Also since the case stops at the solver manager, can you look at the Out file carefully. In the last sections of the Out file, you will see error or warnings which might give a more clear picture of the problem.
