Hello,
I am currently carrying out simulations with porous media and would like to create an expression that gives me the force due to flow on my porous medium. How could such an expression look like in CFX?
Thanks for your help and best regards

HiÂ
If you want an expression to find the force on the porous domain, you can use an expression like "force_x()@porous wall".
Here if x is the direction of force being calculated, and the porous wall is the name given to porous domain walls.
If flow is in the x direction then this expression gives the drag force. If you want lift force, specify the appropriate direction which is perpendicular to the direction of flow.

In ANSYS CFX, accurately determining forces on porous media is crucial for simulating fluid flow in complex systems. By leveraging its advanced computational capabilities, engineers can analyze pressure differentials and velocity distributions within porous structures, optimizing design and performance.
