      Dear Sir,

My name is chong postgraduate student at UTM. I am currently doing my thesis in jacket launch topic, just want to ask if you can provide the sample file on how to perform launch analysis in Ansys AQWA i believe it not possible to model the transportation case in workbench? (correct me if im wrong). My question is,

      1. Can you model tubular tiecans ?
      2. Can I model a tank inside jacket leg? and flood in during upending?
      3. How do you model rocker arm?
      4. How to place the jacket onto barge? do i put fender at each critical nodes (jacket)?
      5. Do you have a sample project file for this type of analysis?

      Thank you!

      Regards,

      ChongLau

We can't provide files, but if you click on Help you may find the tutorials (I think AQWA has tutorials). I'll flag the remainder of the questions to the specialists who know how AQWA works.

Thank you for the assistance ! I have seen several sample project performing launch simulation and transportation analysis using AQWA, I am very curious to know how
      Cheers!

      Hi, ChongLau, regarding your questions:
sorry, how do the tubular tiecans look like or function? In Aqwa, we have rigid joints which fix two structures together.
from 2019R1, we can define internal tanks in the Aqwa. So, yes, you can define tanks inside the jacket legs, but please note the jacket leg and tanks should not share the same surface.
I think it can be possible although Aqwa is not like other Mechanical products that have more advanced joints and contact solutions. The way I can think of is to use two or three-hinged joints to constrain the movement as you wish.
Yes, for the model you showed, we used fenders at each critical nodeto simulate the contact behaviour between jacket and barge.
      Hope this helps.
