Hello,

My research group currently has purchased an ANSYS Academic Mechanical & Electromagnetic Research License for a 32 core cluster we use. We were under the impression that this would allow us to use 16 cores of our cluster, since it comes with an in-built 16 core HPC per task. 

However, on running Icepak simulations, I find that I am only able to use 4 cores. When I try using anything more than 4 cores, I get an error message as follows on the Fluent solver:-

"Capability ANSYS Icepak Parallel does not exist in the ANSYS Licensing pool". I have attached a screenshot of the message for your reference. 

Could someone let me know how I go about troubleshooting this?

Hi upot2,

Open Client ANSLIC_ADMIN Utility v1xx > View Status/Diagnostics Options > Display the License Status > Wait until the status come up, then click Write to File.

Please post the content of the file that is written.

If you are not running version 19.0 or greater of the license manager on the license server, please upgrade the license manager to 19.2.

Additionally which version of Icepak are you running?

I am running Icepak 19.0. So would you suggest upgrading the license manager to 19.2 on the license server?

Hi upot2,

Yes, I would suggest upgrading to 19.2 on the license server.  I may have been mistaken at when the bundle names for the license features changed.  It may have been 19.1 instead of 19.0.

In either case, please try updating the license server to 19.2
