I have downloaded and installed the 2025 R1 Student version of Ansys. However, even though motion is included in the student version I cannot use it. It doesn't appear in the workbench, it doesn't appear as an option in Mechanical, and it's also weird when you select "View All / Customize" motion is an option but it doesn't appear in the toolbox regardless of whether it's checked or not. If I launch Motion Pre directly I get the following error code: "No Such Feature Exists, Feature: vmotions_pre ... Flexnet Licensing Error -5357" I have tried clearing the temp folder, deleting the app data folder, deleting the start menu folder, uninstalling the product, deleting the program files folder, and the reinstalling and it hasn't worked. The licensing server isn't running I have flexnet and web licensing turned off in the licensing settings. I have also tried renaming the %temp% and %appdata% ansys folders to have the .old file extension. As well as checking for the .lic file in the /Shared Files/licensing folder but there isn't anything there.

Any help would be appreciated. Also the license file it points to in the temp folder doesn't seem to exist.

I also have problem with Ansys 2025 R1 Student version. No Ansys Motion in Workbench, cannot run standalone version too.

Was Ansys Motion removed from Student version?

This will be fixed in 25R2. Interested users please migrate to 24R2 student product.
