SubscriberHi,
when I try to start Fluent 19.1 this starts but after a few seconds of loading the screen it stops and does not respond. After about a minute this closes and the message appears:Â The FLUENT application failed to validate the connection.
Only a warning appears on the console: No chached password or password provided.
I try to update windows (i have the last version of Windows 10), i try to reinstall Ansys and i try to deactivate the firewall but none of this worked.
Help me please!

Forum ModeratorAre you on the University network? The cached password tends to be for parallel, try serial.Â

SubscriberI am connected to the university network via VPN,Â
The same error appears to me both in parallel and in serial, but I noticed that even when starting in serial configuration at the top it appears as if it were started in parallel.
The console is very fast, but I noticed that the warning no longer appears in serial.
Fluent, however, continues not to respond and to close after a few minutes.

Ansys EmployeeTry starting with 'Parallel' and 0 processes.
The issue is likely from VPN, there is a trick in newer versions of Fluent (2019 R1 and newer) when encountering this issue with MPI. In Fluent Launcher, select Show More Options -> Parallel Settings -> MPI Type: msmpi , Select IP Interface 127.0.0.1

SubscriberI find the error: Fluent automatically opened on my second screen connected to my laptop and stopped; by chance I started it on the main screen (that of the laptop) and now it no longer freezes.
I have no idea what the reason is.

Ansys EmployeeThank you for sharing your resolution.
This means your machine setup has different graphics on the 2 monitors. The issue with freezing is with the graphics used on the other screen and not your laptop's.
You can check dxdiag and see what graphics are used for Display 1 and Display 2.
