SubscriberHello everyone,
I am a beginner using ANSYS Electronics software. I am modeling grounding systems subjected to lightning, and I have a question about whether ANSYS Maxwell is suitable for modeling transient effects at frequencies in the order of MHz. Should I use another module for this type of study?
I appreciate any recommendations you can provide in advance.

Ansys EmployeeHello, ANSYS Maxwell is indeed suitable for modeling transient effects, including those at frequencies in the order of MHz. It uses finite element analysis (FEA) to solve transient problems, which would be relevant for your study on grounding systems subjected to lightning. Maxwell 3D or Maxwell 2D can be used for finite element analysis to extract parameters and plot field distributions, which may include transient effects due to lightning strikes.
