SubscriberHello, can anyone clarify how to make simulation of disc brake which should rotate full 360 deg (even greater than that) while pad gets compressed on either side. Is it possible.

SubscriberWhy is it important to rotate a full 360 deg?
What question do you have that you want a simulation to answer?

SubscriberSorry for not making myself clear. But 1 question, what force will be excreted by disc brake when rubber pad is suddenly made disc to stop. Hope the lesser reaction force, then longer life and safety. Is it correct. I am doing project with different disc brake surface and find how effective each one is. Thank you.

SubscriberMake a list of the parameters you want to study.
- Brake Pad Coefficient of Friction to Disc
- Brake Pad Normal Force
How is the disc brake surface going to change from one simulation to the next?
What output result are you going to measure?
If you have Disc Rotation as an input, you can have Disc Reaction Torque as an output.

SubscriberYes, got the point. But which workbench will suit this, hope transient structural works fine. Also what should be input parameters and how to view output on particular workbench.

SubscriberYou should start in Static Structural. Go to Transient Structural when you need to measure something that is not available in Static Structural.

SubscriberOk, but will it possible to view the rotation of disc. Because mostly I don't see any simulation with rotation on youtube.

SubscriberHere is an example of a Static Structural model with a 60 degree rotation of a revolute joint turning a disc.

You can also do a similar model with Transient Structural. Here is a relevant discussion.

SubscriberHi peteroznewmanÂ
You mention in your last post of this discussion there is a relevant link but the link seems to be missing.
Any reason why?
