SubscriberHello,
I want to model a semi infinite fluid domain using ambient elements in SALE mesh. I have created a solid set using SET_SOLID_GENERAL and the mesh control points required. While defining the *BOUNDARY_AMBIENT keyword, is it mandatory to input the Load curves for Internal energy and Volume fraction?Â
When the pressure inflow/outflow in the ambient boundaries are unknown, can the LCIDs for internal energy and volume fraction be left blank?

Ansys EmployeeHi Abhemanyu,
By default, the space outside the ALE mesh has 0 P definition (a kind of computational vacuum, right?).
Defining  *BOUNDARY_AMBIENT without load curves default it to zero p anyway. I think this is an added complexity with no advantage and would advise against it. It may or may not run, but i wouldn't do it anyway even if it "runs". It is added cost for no gain, and also potentially a source of instability because we are not sure how the code will take it.
