Addition of Parameters cell to a FEA analysis system

      Hello,

I have completed a (stress) structural analysis of a cylindrical model geometry and I would like to add the Parameters cell so that to be linked in the analysis system details that defined in properties and analysis settings.

I intend to follow Response Surface and Response Surface Optimization analysis afterwards.

Could you help me on how do I add the Parameters cell beneath the Results cell of my analysis system? Do I add that through ANSYS Mechanical and Analysis setting, by DesignModeler or via the Project Schematic?

      Thank you.

      Kind regards,

      FX

The Parameters box in the Project Schematic is automatically created whenever you click a little square box in any other part of the system, like in Engineering Data, Geometry, Meshing, Model Loads, Model Results.  When you click on the little square box, the letter P appears in the box indicating that you just created a Parameter. You generally want input and output parameters.

       Dear Peter Oznewman,

I have followed your suggestion to create a(n additional) Parameter cell to the analysis system by clicking on one of the square boxes in any of the system parts (Engineering Data, Geometry, Meshing, Model Loads, Model Results). Indeed I want input and output parameters, that is why I want to use an additional cell to the system to connect the details already set in properties and analysis with the results.

However, it didn`t work with me; when I click on the box(es), no choice appeared or new cell created.

As you can see in the picture attached I only could create a parameter cell independent from the analysis system, by clicking on the Parameter correlation from the analyses systems toolbox., which is not what I want to do.

      Any further suggestion?

      Thank you for your reply.

      Regards,

      FX

      Dear FX,

You don't click anything in the Toolbox as you did, you click something in Engineering Data, or in Mechanical, or in the geometry editor.

In Engineering Data, you click the box in column E to create an Input Parameter.

In DesignModeler, you click on the Parameters button to create them, note there are two tabs.

In Mechanical, you click on the box next to an input Load.

An then you select an a result to click the box to put a P in it to have an output Parameter.

Then you will get a Parameter Set in Workbench. I have added a Response Surface below to setup a DOE, but that is optional.

If you click on Parameter Set, you get a worksheet to enter values. (This screen shot was before I added Pressure).

But in the Response Surface block, it automatically creates a DOE. (This screen shot was before I added Pressure).

      Dear Peter Newman,

Thank you very much for your help!

I know that the DOE from a Response Surface analysis system is optional, I just want to practice on how the parameterization  works in my models.

      Thank you again.

      FX
