SubscriberWhen finishing the project in ACP Pre, I wanna make an analysis in Static Structural, but I'm facing some problems to add new models with the tool external model or mechanical model. nThus, when I tranfer my assembly to Static Structural as shell data, I don't have to add any external models. Nevertheless, Static Structural shows the plies I've already defined in ACP Pre either I choose transfer shell composite data or solid composite data. What I really wanna know is if there is any significant difference between these 2 ways (solid and shell) in simulation, if appear some inconsistencies depending on what I choose.n -

Ansys EmployeenShell composite data would use layered shell 181 elements. See help - SHELL181 (ansys.com)nSolid composite data would use layered solid185 elements. See help - SOLID185 (ansys.com)nIf your model has both composite and metal components, you can use ACP Pre to model the composite part and use Mechanical Model to mesh the metal components. Then assemble the mesh in the analysis system (static, modal etc). If you have existing mesh from external model for the metal components, you can import that as well.nnSample schematic:n1.5.
