SubscriberHi, I'm studying the effect of external vibration excitation on the mesh stiffness of gears.Obviously, to solve for a change in stiffness, you have to know the contact forces and the contact deformation, which you all know. But among the transient dynamics Analysis, choose excitation of vibration acceleration, when I loaded the x, y, z three directions of vibration acceleration, speed and torque as well as the volatility, but in the Analysis Settings, don't know how to set up the relevant Step Controls, because I have thousands of sets of changes in the data (gear meshing transmission time for 10 seconds, record every 0.0005 seconds a vibration acceleration on the three directions and fluctuation of speed and torque), so has been showed Invaild time Step setting. Therefore, I really hope to get help from Analysis Settings and guidance from you.

SubscriberI am still lost about the step controls. how about if I want to apply a displacement load that increases 4 mm every min? n -

SubscribernI will assume you have material that has a creep law in the material model, otherwise, you would not care about the rate of loading. You could move 4 mm in 4 seconds instead of 60 seconds and get the same answer without creep, but let's assume you have creep.nSimply set the end time for step 1 to be 60 seconds and have the displacement for step 1 to be ramping from 0 to 4 mm.nIf you need to go to 8 mm, make step 2 end at 120 seconds and have the displacement for step 2 be ramping up to 8 mm.n
