We could use Maxwell stress tensor to calculate the radial and tangential forces in field calculator. Additionally, we can use the built-in force density to get the radial and tangential force data and distribution in Maxwell.
To use Maxwell stress tensor equation, we have
1). Convert Bx and By to Br and Bt in field calculator.
Radial flux density, Br
Input -> Quantity -> B (load B vector into the calculator);
Vector -> X Form -> ToCylindrical(convert to cylindrical coordinate)
Vector -> Scal? -> ScalarX(X -> Radial, Y-> Phi, Z -> Z, get radial direction B)
Add / Name:Br
Tangential flux density, Bt
.
Vector -> Scal? -> ScalarY
Add / Name: Bt
2). Calculate radial force along line, (Br^2-Bt^2)/2/(4*pi*1e-7)
Maxwell 2D/ Results / Create Fields Report / Rectangular Plot
Geometry: Polyline1, Add expression (Br^2-Bt^2)/2/(4*pi*1e-7)
Or you can add this expression in field calculator
3). Calculate tangential force along line, Br*Bt/(4*pi*1e-7)
Maxwell 2D / Results / Create Fields Report / Rectangular Plot
Geometry: Polyline1, Add expression Br*Bt/(4*pi*1e-7)
