Forum ModeratorThe data in Fluent will have come from somewhere, but could easily be 20+ years old. Back then we weren't very good at adding references into the libraries: there's nothing in the data file for this reaction scheme.
If some books have a different value, that implies other books share the Fluent data: do they give any hints as to why there is a difference?

SubscriberThank you for a quick response.
When I am checking the values used in FLUENT with values from the attachment I am getting the same values for a number of fuels (CH4, C2H6, C10H22 and CH3OH), and the data completely matches each other. I have not checked the entire list as I have to work only with limited fuels, and as of yet, I have found discrepancies in only 1 data i.e. ethyl-alcohol. I have yet not found any book using the data given for ethyl-alcohol in FLUENT.

Forum ModeratorIn which case it could have been a typo or poor unit conversion in the 80s or there's an odd operating condition that the data was corrected for. We do advise that the materials library is used with some caution. I trust the data from the Granta tools, I always do a sanity check on Fluent's material properties.
