SubscriberHello,
I ran a 2D Axisymmetric (in WB2023-R2) analysis, can I display any "3D representation of the results...? (I think of beams, there you can ask to show full x-sec of beam, instead only beam)

Ansys EmployeeHi Turan,
Go to WB--> tools--> options--> appearance--> tick Beta options.Â
click on the symmetry --> Details--> input the value " 360" in the del theta.Â
This feature allows you to visualize the axisymmetric results as if they were revolved around an axis, giving a pseudo-3D effect that can help in understanding the symmetry and full implications of the results.
Best Regards,

SubscriberThanks a lot Sampat. However, I dont have "symmetry" entry in my model tree. I only use 2D Behaviour on 3 surfaces. Also, I'm curious why Ansys shows me the length unit in "meters", and not in "inch" as it is modelled in SpaceClaim. So, is it still possible to obtain 3D representation in this case?

SubscriberWow, it worked. Thank you so much. A side remark, the del theta was acceptable with just 10, having 360 does not have a visible effect on results (found on youtube)...
I appreciate your time

SubscriberI am attempting to do something similar to the original poster using ANSYS 2023 R1. I created a basic pipe model using axisymmetry, applied a uniform pressure to the inner surface, and constrained the top and bottom edges in the y-direction. When I investigate the normal stress in the z-direction (the hoop direction), it is not theta-independent as expected. It almost seems like the stresses are plotted in the Cartesian z-direction, rather than the axisymmetric z-direction. Any suggestions on how to display the results in the hoop-direction?
