As per your query the intention of the Academic Team is to make sure students use our core and latest simulation technology by solving the problem from start to end. Students should view SpaceClaim as an integrated geometry tool to solve the problem instead of using it as a standalone tool.
So I think the Ansys Discovery Student package which should consume less memory as compared to Ansys Student, would be a better option for you.
