MPICH2 is an MPI (wiki) – one of the Job Launching Presets available on the older versions of Lumerical in Linux.

We changed the Job Launching Preset to Local Computer (2024 R2.3 shown in the image below). “Local Computer” runs the simulation job without using any MPI process. See the KB for more information.
