Hello Yasmine,
By default the calculations in the Global Coordinate System are cartesian. In fields calculator you can change that by selecting “to cylindrical” from the “X Form” drop down list in the Vector column. This operation turns ScalarX, ScalarY and ScalarZ operations into ScalarR, ScalarPhi and ScalarZ values. So for example if you want to calculate the lumped force in the R direction of object “Box”, you would do the following in fields calculator:
Select Quantity > Volume force density
From column “Vector”, select “X Form” > To Cylindrical > In the pop-up window select “ok” without adding offset
From column “Vector”, select “Scal?” > ScalX (ScalX now represents ScalR in cylindrical)
Select geometry “Box” and integrate the volume force density in the R direction over the volume of the box.
Kind regards,
Niki
