It is possible in the monitor when there is a device there: the strong reflection/diffraction can produce interference, and some device can have focus capability so any value of the electric fields can be possible. 

To confirm, you can simulate an empty space and check the amplitude. It might not be exactly what is in theory, it should be very close.

If you still have questions, please post some screenshots of the device and simulation settings.
