Contours are the continuous surface plot, have a look in the Fluent tutorials (click on Help or look in Learning) as they're in all of the post processing exercises. 

You need to review the flow field carefully. You may find particles cluster and then blow clear, or that there's a transient feature in the flow. If the flow is complex then you may well need more than 1000 iterations.Â
